"When I tell you that Awooga sounds like the best bits of Mogwai, A Perfect Circle and Deftones, you'd better pay attention..."

About Awooga

Formed in Sheffield in 2014 by local scenester brothers Tam and Taz Ali, along with ex Naisin guitarist James Borrowdale, they named their band either after the sound of a faulty siren that they kept hearing – or after an indian mystic, depending on who you talk to.

AWOOGA  pretty much instantly got picked up on by Sel Balamir from Amplifier, and a strong bond soon grew between the bands, leading  to them being the inaugural signing and release with the 2016’s “Alpha” EP on Balamir’s Rockosmos label.

After building up initial fans and getting shows under their belts 2018 saw the release of Awooga’s debut album, the colossal and titanic “Conduit”.

Conduit was incredibly well received and spun out 3 singles and fantastic videos – “Water Hole”, “Temporal” and “Blue Rose”

Awooga have performed at many diverse UK festivals such as Crooked Ways, Tramlines festival supporting Anathema and bizarrely at KAYA festival with Asian Dub Foundation, they have toured twice in Europe with bands such as Knifeworld and Amplifier and are set to return there in 2019
